Lead is one type of heavy metal used by toy manufacturers as an alternative and inexpensive option to quickly dry the paint, to resist rust and corrosion and to retain its attractive appearance for longer period of time. Even though it is a cheaper alternative, it is toxic and fatal once ingested by the user. Medical experts said that this toxic metal may result to toxicity and other medical-related problems. It can also cause poisoning when it finds it way inside our body.

At present, many of us are unaware that some of our house paints contain lead which can be toxic once inhaled or exhaled. Some parents are also blinded and unaware that some of the cheaper brands of toys sold in the market contains lead which could pose health-related issues and problems with children especially when kids chew or suck the toys on their mouths. It was found that this toxic chemical is not only found in toys but it is also found in metals, plastics and woods. Medical findings reveal that lead poisoning can result to mental and physical disabilities like speech trouble, learning problems, damaged organs and diminutive growth in children.

As a parent, it is your duty to protect the health and welfare of your child, thus, it is vital for you to avoid buying these products. How would you know that the toy you buy contains lead? Well, since some manufacturers will not put it in product labels, parents are advised to buy toys from credible and reputable toy manufacturers which have the reputation of offering quality customer service and companies which primary concern is to ensure the safety of children who used their toys.
